Speeding
What is Community Speedwatch?
Motorists who speed through residential neighbourhoods are very often unaware of the impact their actions have on local residents, or the danger they pose to other road users and pedestrians.
Community Speedwatch
Thanks to a generous grant from North Lincolnshire Council, we now have a speeding sign in place. The sign will be rotated around the parishes on a 6/8 week rota so that both parishes can benefit from the one sign. Hopefully this will deter anti-social speeding and make our villages a safer place in which to live, walk and drive
Now that the SID has been deployed, the Council will look in to the possibility of establishing a Community Speedwatch group. A community speedwatch group empowers communities to play an active role alongside the local police in tackling the problems of speeding in their neighbourhood. The plan is to have a number of volunteers trained up to monito traffic using hand held speed detection devices.
